CEA Headmistress Wasana graduates with diploma in Child Psychology and Counselling
In May 2025, Ceylon English Academy’s Headmistress, Wasana Priyangani, graduated with a diploma in Child Psychology and Counselling. An achievement that reflects her long-standing commitment to supporting the wellbeing of her students, both academically and emotionally.
The course, which was completed alongside her responsibilities running the CEA, focused on child development, mental health, and approaches to effective student support. The additional training will enhance the academy’s already strong focus on student care, particularly for children facing social, emotional, or economic challenges.
This qualification formalises the guidance and compassion Wasana has brought to the CEA for over two decades, and will strengthen the pastoral care she provides, a vital part of the academy’s environment, especially for students dealing with the pressures of education alongside family hardship or instability.
Congratulations Wasana!
